Well we had quite the learning experience Saturday at the State Shoot! First let me explain, this has a whole different set of rules and scoring,etc... so we were there learning but trying to have fun. She had to shoot 20 rounds of 3 arrows and then it was shooting in meters which equaled out close to 20 yards. My daughter has been practicing for 4-H which only lets her shoot 10 yards, so we changed everything on the bow for 20 yards Thursday night! She has shot 20 yards before but it was last summer and most of it was 3-D. Well anyway after starting at 9:40 am it was over @1:30 pm, made a long day on the 9 year old. Ended up getting a medal and getting 2nd place in the State MAA Bowman Female Compund Division. I was proud of her but she was wore out. Now we got to go back to league tonight and reset everything to 10 yards and now we also got 4-H practice nights so it looks like we will be shooting 3 nights a week for awhile!!!! Anyway had to bragg on her. :thumb2:

Got to brag again..she won her division at the Deer Classic Saturaday...signed her up for Mo Bow Hunters State Indoor Shoot at Linn next weekend! after I had already paid I found out it is a 2 day shoot!! Now I got to get a hotel room. This archery thing is going to wear me out...but as long as she is having fun and behaving at home I'll keep doing it.

day one done- 269 out of 300. Not sure were she stands over all but in the top end, day 2 starts with another trip back down to Linn shoot at noon. (got cow problems and mom can't handle it by herself so we have to drive the 1 1/2 hours each way!) She is getting excited and I think she will be able to shoot even better Sunday..it was a big shoot and she was a little bit shy with the size of the event. Made it nice when the adults in our league stopped by during the day checking on her and reminding her to have fun and quit punching her release. (She's getting tired of hearing that, but I told her she knows the problem so fix it!)

Long day, finally home! She shot a 265 today so not as good, don't have all the results to look at yet but she is either 4 or 5th in her age group. She was upset, myself and several others had to explain to her that she had a very good first state shoot and that she should be proud of how she did. Then I had several people ask if we were going to Nationals next weekend in KY! I said not this year, one of these years. I am really proud of how she did and now on the 4-H and 3-D shoots until the fall.
